How was your Christmas? Are you knee deep in wrapping paper and glitter? It’s amazing, isn’t it?
We know that Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, but for many people, it can also be overwhelming. I’m sure that many of you reading this have been responsible for most of the shopping, wrapping and cooking, and even when the big day is done, your work will continue. Whether it is hosting family, building toys, tidying up or acting as the designated driver, the list of jobs can be endless.
Christmas self care
All of the things that we have to do over Christmas can lead to us feeling stressed at a time when we are supposed to be relaxed and happy. Anyone with a skin condition will know that stress can be a trigger for skin flare up, so it is important to try and manage this. That is why you need to take a little time for yourself over Christmas. A small amount of self care can give you the chance to relax and reset when you need to, in order to leave you ready to enjoy the rest of the festivities with the right energy levels and mindset
Why not run yourself a bath, light some candles and put on some relaxing music? This can be a great way to step away from the noise and the stress. Add The Beauty of Eczema™ Bath Salts and Bathing Oil into your bath to help you unwind and to give your skin some much needed care and hydration. You can also light a candle and play some of your favourite music to make it the perfect me-time.
We are now only a few days away from the start of a new year, so it can be a very reflective time. There is a lot of talk about resolutions and goals for 2023, but these can put a lot of undue pressure on people. Instead, think about your wishes for 2023: what do you hope for, and what would you like for other people? This can be a much more positive way to think about things and can make many aims seem a lot more achievable. If you want to get creative, you can start looking for images for your 2023 vision board.
If any of your wishes for next year relate to your skin, then why not take a look at my book, The Beauty of Eczema™? In the book, I talk about my journey with eczema and how I have reached the place that I am at today. It is not a manual about how to fix your skin, but instead it is about how to think about your skin and your body, how to treat yourself, and how to love yourself. We all take a different path when dealing with skin conditions, but this book can help you to achieve a healthy mindset and attitude towards yourself, which can help when it comes to looking towards 2023. I receive heartfelt messages from readers about how this book changed their life. You can check out some of the reviews here.
I hope you have all had a magical Christmas and that the new year is everything that you hope it will be.
Lots of love and positive vibes, Camille xx
