Happy New Year to you all!

Happy New Year to you all!

Wow, 2023 is here already! It seems as though the last 12 months have absolutely flown by, and here we are, at the start of another year. It is a time of a lot of excitement, and it makes us all look towards the future a little bit. This is the time when everyone starts to talk about resolutions and fresh starts, and we can put a lot of pressure on ourselves to make some dramatic changes all at once. January can also be one of the toughest times of year for our sensitive skin thanks to the cold weather.

I thought I would take a moment to offer my advice on how to address this in a way that is healthy for your mind and body using my HOPE Principles.

Don’t rush it

We spend Christmas relaxing, having fun and indulging and then have a tendency to think that we need to rip up our entire lifestyles on the 2nd January. Without realising it, we can put ourselves under huge amounts of stress to make changes immediately just because of the date, but in reality, this does not need to be the case.

If there are changes that you want to make or things that you want to achieve then set yourself goals that are achievable, but don’t feel pressured into doing them straight away. Start to tackle each thing when you feel ready and when you have space in your life to deal with it. The more stress that you put on yourself, the worse you will feel and the less likely that you are to achieve your aims.

Take your time to think carefully about what you want to do and come with a plan of how you intend to get there. It is important to always remain optimistic, and by setting yourself targets that you know you can reach, you are more likely to think positively about them. Then start to make your changes when you feel good and ready to do it, giving yourself a new sense of purpose.

Bitesize goals

If you do start to make changes and set goals, then try to make them bitesize ones. By saying that you are going to do something throughout the whole year, you have a timescale which is almost too big to manage. Instead, set yourself a goal for the month or the season.

If you are wanting to make other changes to your lifestyle, maybe consider doing them piece by piece. For example, start going to the gym once a week and then build it up over time, or change small things at work one by one to achieve a bigger goal. Eating well and exercising are very important for your mental and physical wellbeing, but make sure that your moves towards these are something you feel confident and happy about.

By breaking all of your dreams down into smaller items, you can tick them off one by one, getting a sense of satisfaction instead of failure.

Remember, your home is your sanctuary, and it is important to keep this healthy and peaceful, without bringing new and stressful elements into it before you are ready. Don’t be afraid to ask for support when it comes to making changes - whether it is a gym buddy, someone to take away temptation or just someone offering a little encouragement when it is needed.

My wish for 2023 is for you all to be happy, healthy and living your best lives, and I am always here to help you in that journey. Remember, having sensitive skin does not and should not limit your life in any way, so please make sure that you are out there doing the things that you love. I love to hear your stories, so please head over to Instagram to share what you are doing and what you hope to achieve.

Here’s to a happy, peaceful and prosperous new year for everyone!

Lots of love and positive vibes, Camille xx
